NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 non-Ti with 8GB RAM heading straight for the neck of Intel’s ARC A380

According to the most recent update from @kopite7kimi, the RTX 3050 non-Ti will have 8GB of GDDR6 RAM. This information was absent from our previous week’s report. We can only confirm that the RTX 3050 is actually on the roadmap as a GA106-150 product and that it will be available in the second quarter of 2022. Kopite appears to have further information, including RAM specifications and, as previously reported, CUDA core configuration: 3072 units.

With all of this in mind, the desktop RTX 3050 series would deviate from the GA107 GPU utilized by the mobile series, which was announced over a year ago. However, the choice to update to a stronger GPU was not influenced by NVIDIA’s concern for budget players, but rather tough competition that emerged practically simultaneously.

The RX 6500XT and RTX 3050 aren’t the only new cards in this GPU market. Intel is also working on a new model with DG2-128EU GPU, potentially dubbed Arc A380, according to a tweet from @TUM APISAK. According to the leaker, the card presently delivers GTX 1650 SUPER performance, which appears to be fairly sluggish given how late it is expected to arrive.

However, this might be due to the GPU driver’s present condition, in which it is not displaying its full capabilities. According to the tweet, the card would have a boost frequency of 2.45 GHz and 6GB of GDDR6 memory. APISAK has not said if this is a mobile or desktop component.

All of these budget cards will be available in the first half of 2022. The release dates, however, do not appear to be fixed in stone, as the timetables are always changing.
