Mark your calendars — and set a reminder for 2027 while you’re at it. The most anticipated Telugu film collaboration in recent memory just got an official release date. NTRNeel, also reportedly titled Dragon, starring Jr NTR and directed by the blockbuster maestro Prashanth Neel, is now confirmed to hit the big screen on June 11, 2027.

The announcement came packed with a stunning new poster of the RRR star — a powerful silhouette that has already sent fans into a complete frenzy. Jr NTR himself took to social media to share the update with the caption: “HIS REIGN… HIS SOIL… JUNE 11, 2027… IT IS….” And honestly? If that doesn’t give you goosebumps, nothing will.

A Dream Team, A Delayed Dream

This is the first-ever collaboration between Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel — two of Indian cinema’s most explosive forces — and expectations couldn’t be higher. Neel, the man behind the KGF franchise, bringing his visceral brand of mass action filmmaking to Telugu’s greatest mass hero? The excitement is completely justified.

The film was originally slated for June 25, 2026, but has now been pushed to 2027 — a delay that stung fans but also signals the team’s commitment to delivering something truly large-scale. The good news? A first glimpse is set for May 20, 2026, coinciding with Jr NTR’s 43rd birthday, which should tide fans over in the meantime.

What About the Villain?

One notable subplot in NTRNeel’s production journey has been its antagonist casting. Initially, Tovino Thomas — fresh off Minnal Murali fame — was rumoured to play the main villain. However, the Malayalam star confirmed he had to step away due to prior commitments back home. Reports now suggest that Shahid Kapoor is in talks to step into that role, which would make this one of the most pan-India star-studded casts in recent memory.
