No Jealousy, No Regret! Akshay Kumar Breaks Silence on Whether He Was Offered a Role in Dhurandhar

Was Akshay Kumar quietly eyeing a role in Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster Dhurandhar? The internet was buzzing with that question — and now, Akshay has given a candid, no-nonsense answer that reveals a lot about how Bollywood’s biggest stars truly think about each other’s success.

Akshay Kumar Facts at a Glance

What Did Akshay Actually Say?

Appearing at the India Today Conclave to promote his upcoming Bhooth Bangla, Akshay spoke with characteristic honesty about Ranveer Singh’s massive Dhurandhar success. He praised the film’s full-throttle action, calling Ranveer the perfect fit for the “angry young man” image it demanded. Audiences loved it, he acknowledged — and that’s simply how tastes keep evolving.

When directly asked if he would have liked to be part of Dhurandhar, Akshay’s reply was disarmingly straightforward: director Aditya Dhar simply didn’t think of him for it, so the question never arose.

But what really stood out was his mature take on Bollywood competition. He explained that he and Ranveer actually admire each other’s work — they often tell each other they wish they’d done a particular film the other starred in. That kind of mutual appreciation, he said, is perfectly normal. Bollywood has roughly 15–20 top actors and around 180 films produced every year, so there’s enough work for everyone. There’s room for regret over a missed opportunity, he added — but absolutely no jealousy.

It’s the kind of grounded, emotionally intelligent perspective you rarely hear from superstars, and it made waves instantly.

What’s Next for Akshay Kumar?

With Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge dropping on March 19, 2026, Akshay is just weeks away from his own big theatrical moment. Bhooth Bangla, his horror-comedy reunion with director Priyadarshan, is set to arrive roughly three weeks later — and early buzz suggests it’s the kind of laugh-riot audiences have been waiting for.
