The finale, titled “Survival of the Fittest,” sends the team into a final showdown with Apocalypse. To save Gambit, whose body has been possessed by the villain since being resurrected as a Horseman of Death, Rogue travels to Apocalypse’s Ship with Beast and Nightcrawler and confronts the Celestial living inside it, learning the only way to save Remy LeBeau’s life is to sacrifice her own. She strikes the deal, gaining god-like power to defeat Apocalypse in exchange for promising the Celestial her death.
Who Actually Dies?
Not Rogue. Beast returns carrying a Bible to reveal that Rogue won’t be the one paying the price after all — instead, Nightcrawler quietly gives his own life to the Celestial, striking a bargain with Eson to save his sister in her place. He explains that the team will grieve him, but reassures them he has faith they’ll recover and keep being the heroes the world needs. TheWrapTheWrap
