Netflix’s The Last House Is the Claustrophobic Sci-Fi Nightmare You Won’t Be Able to Look Away From

If Leave the World Behind kept you up at night, Netflix’s next thriller might just finish the job. The Last House is coming — and the first-look images alone are already unsettling.

What Is The Last House on Netflix?

Netflix has unveiled a haunting first look at The Last House (previously known as 11817), an upcoming sci-fi survival thriller from director Louis Leterrier, starring Greta Lee and Wagner Moura — officially set to hit Netflix globally on August 7, 2026.

Blending science fiction, horror, and survival thriller elements, the film centres on a family trapped inside their own home, facing an unknown threat with dwindling resources and no way out.

The first-look images capture the movie’s claustrophobic and desperate tone — one shows the family peering anxiously through a fogged, rain-streaked window, while another reveals the parents literally tearing up floorboards to plant a makeshift indoor vegetable garden. That image alone tells you everything about how dire things get. whats-on-netflix
