Netflix’s October 2026 K-drama Slate: Every New Release, Cast, and Story Explained

Autumn is shaping up to be a genre-hopping treat for K-drama fans. Netflix has finalized its October 2026 lineup, complete with a couple of last-minute release date shuffles — moving a rom-com up the calendar while pushing a horror series back. Whether you’re in the mood for romance, dread, or classical-music drama, here’s everything worth knowing before it drops.

October 2026 K-Drama Lineup

Take Charge of My Heart: A Rom-Com With a Sci-Fi Spark

This one got a scheduling glow-up. Originally rumored for a late-October or November premiere, Take Charge of My Heart was bumped up to October 9 after Dead-End Job’s release date shifted later in the month. The story follows Baek Ho Rang (Kim Young Kwang), a man living with a failing artificial heart, whose life changes when he meets No Bo Bae (Chae Soo Bin) — a woman with the rare ability to generate electricity and literally recharge his heart.

It’s an unusual hook for a rom-com, blending sci-fi whimsy with classic will-they-won’t-they chemistry. With 12 episodes at a comfortable 70-minute runtime, expect plenty of room for the show to build both the romance and the emotional stakes tied to Ho Rang’s health.

Dead-End Job: Fantasy-Horror That Turns a Dream Job Into a Nightmare

Led by Lee Jae Wook and Go Min Si, Dead-End Job centers on Hyuk-jun, a young man lured into what looks like the perfect part-time gig — paying an eye-watering 50 times the standard hourly wage — through a mysterious employment agency called Spyder Human Resource Center. Naturally, things don’t stay perfect for long. As Hyuk-jun settles into the role, he starts encountering strange, terrifying phenomena that turn the “opportunity of a lifetime” into something far more sinister.

The eight-episode fantasy-horror series was initially expected to premiere October 9 alongside a showcase at the 31st Busan International Film Festival, but reports now suggest its release has been pushed to October 30. If you’re a fan of workplace horror with a supernatural twist, this is shaping up to be one of the month’s most intriguing new titles.

Four Hands, Two Sonatas: A Musical Rivalry Reaches Its Finale

Rounding out the lineup is the emotionally driven music drama Four Hands, Two Sonatas, starring Song Kang as piano prodigy Kang Bi O. His steady rise toward the top is disrupted by the arrival of Choi Jeong Yo (Lee Jun Young), a gifted rival who once walked away from his own musical talent. Caught between them is Hong Jae In, a viola major with unusually sensitive hearing and Bi O’s devoted friend.

Together, the trio navigates the high-pressure, competitive world of classical music, confronting old wounds and personal ambition as their paths repeatedly intersect. After releasing new episodes weekly on Saturdays and Sundays, the series is set to wrap up with its finale on October 4, 2026 — closing out a story built on rivalry, passion, and the kind of tension that only shared artistic ambition can create.

Why This Month’s Lineup Stands Out

What makes October 2026 particularly interesting is the genre range on display: a sci-fi-tinged rom-com, a supernatural workplace horror, and a character-driven music drama all landing in the same month. It’s a solid reminder of just how versatile Netflix’s K-drama slate has become, appealing to romance fans, horror devotees, and slice-of-life drama lovers all at once.

Keep in mind that Netflix has noted this isn’t necessarily the complete list for October — more titles could still be announced as the month approaches, so it’s worth checking back for updates.
