Ex-Husband Meets Current Husband in the Most Chaotic Way Possible — Netflix’s Husbands in Action Trailer Is Pure Comedy Gold

What happens when a hot-headed detective ex-husband and a gentle veterinarian current husband are forced to work together to rescue the woman they both love? Netflix’s Husbands in Action has the answer — and judging by the trailer, it’s absolutely hilarious. Here’s everything you need to know about the film dropping on June 19.

Husbands in Action: Film Overview

What Is Husbands in Action About?

Helmed by 6/45 director Park Gyu Tae, Husbands in Action is an action-comedy about an ex-husband and a current husband begrudgingly teaming up to save a wife who’s been kidnapped by a dangerous criminal organization. Jin Sun Kyu will play Chung Sik, a hot-headed detective who charges headfirst into every case, including the mission to rescue his ex-wife. Gong Myoung will star as Min Seok, a gentle veterinarian who is the current husband of Chung Sik’s ex-wife — and who is determined to save his beloved spouse.

The contrast between a bull-in-a-china-shop detective and a soft-spoken vet is already comedy writing gold — and the trailer delivers on that promise fully.

What Happens in the Trailer?

Towards the start of the trailer, Chung Sik and Min Seok get on each other’s nerves during an awkward run-in at their daughter’s English public speaking contest, where they both claim the title of Yeon Ju’s father. However, the friction between them is quickly forgotten when Chung Sik receives a phone call informing him that their wife and daughter have been abducted. Despite their incessant bickering, the two begin to find their rhythm as partners, and this chaotic duo soon showcases flawless teamwork as they set out to rescue their family.

The buddy-action setup — rivals forced into cooperation by crisis — is a beloved formula in Korean action comedy cinema, and this film looks like it handles it with sharp comic timing and genuine heart.

The Extreme Job Reunion That Fans Are Hyped For

The film notably marks the reunion of Jin Sun Kyu and Gong Myoung, who previously starred together in the box-office hit Extreme Job. That film was a monster commercial success in South Korea, and seeing the two back on screen together — this time as romantic rivals rather than cops — is a major drawcard for existing fans of both actors.
