Netflix’s ‘Hunting Gary Glitter’ Documentary Series Has Been Delayed

Netflix has pulled the plug — at least temporarily — on its upcoming true crime docuseries Hunting Gary Glitter, delaying the release indefinitely just weeks after its initial announcement. The three-part series was set to premiere on October 14, 2026, but new legal developments have forced a pause.

Hunting Gary Glitter: Overview

Why the Delay Happened?

Netflix confirmed the postponement citing “new legal information we recently became aware of,” without disclosing specifics. All promotional assets, including the previously released trailer, have since been pulled from Netflix’s media website, signaling the pause is being taken seriously behind the scenes.

What the Documentary Covers

The series was set to follow the journalists who tracked fugitive pop star Gary Glitter across multiple countries, documenting his decades-long evasion of justice following his criminal convictions, alongside survivors who came forward publicly. Director Sebastian Smith previously helmed true crime projects including Netflix’s “The Devil on Trial.”
