Players have recently requested that NBA 2K on PC receive the same next-generation updates as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions. Despite these pleas, it appears that the PC version of NBA 2K23 will continue to be based on the older console version.
The upcoming NBA 2K game’s PC and Nintendo Switch editions won’t get the same graphical and technical updates as its next-gen platform counterparts, according to a response in the FAQs area of the 2K Games website.
As the creators continue to put the console experience first, this will be disappointing for PC fans of the NBA 2K series.
“This is something the team is passionate about and will continue to investigate what is possible for the franchise in the future,” the answer reads. “For now, the focus was on assuring NBA 2K23 was optimized for the new consoles (PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S), while also making sure the experience remains fresh and innovative for players on other platforms.”
NBA 2K is a well-known basketball simulation. There isn’t much information available regarding the latest game in the 2K series, but 2K Games has revealed that Michael Jordan would be on the covers of the restricted Championship Edition and the aptly named Michael Jordan Edition.
The game, which debuts on September 9, will also feature his famous Michael Jordan challenges. The cover of the standard edition features Devin Booker.
