Murder in a Small Town Season 3 Is Done Filming

FOX’s coastal crime drama reached Netflix US on September 29, 2026, with both seasons, and quickly entered the Top 10. It debuted at No. 6 for the week of September 28.

The show follows Karl Alberg (Rossif Sutherland), a burned-out big-city detective turned police chief of a sleepy seaside town. Kristin Kreuk co-stars as Cassandra Lee, the librarian turned mayor.

Season 3 is confirmed. FOX renewed the series in May, noting that Season 2 grew its audience by 11% over Season 1. The 10-episode season wrapped filming on BC’s Sunshine Coast in June.

New Faces in Gibsons

The O.C. alum Peter Gallagher joins as a series regular, playing Rod Finlayson. He is described as a charismatic but unreliable figure whose arrival at the marina stirs up trouble. Selma Blair is set to guest star.
