A time-slipping chef. A gourmet princess. And two actors whose on-screen chemistry fans still talk about years later. Mun Ka Young and Cha Eun Woo could be teaming up again — and this reunion has K-drama fans buzzing already.

According to a September 8 report, Mun Ka Young has been offered the lead role in tvN’s upcoming drama “Seorabeol Knife,” with Cha Eun Woo currently in talks to join her.

What’s “Seorabeol Knife” About?

The drama follows a one-Michelin-star Italian chef who time-slips back to the ancient Silla kingdom after following a 1,000-year-old prophecy hidden inside a gold-plated honey box. There, he meets a demanding gourmet princess, and together they set off to discover the finest flavors in the land — a cooking-themed romance with a fantasy twist.

Why Fans Are Excited

Mun Ka Young and Cha Eun Woo previously starred together in the hit drama “True Beauty,” which remains a fan favorite seven years later. If both actors sign on, this would mark their long-awaited on-screen reunion — this time in a historical fantasy-romance rather than a high school setting.

Adding to the anticipation is director Jang Tae Yoo, whose previous drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” hit a peak viewership rating of 17.1%. With his track record for blending food, romance, and royal drama, expectations for “Seorabeol Knife” are already high.

Princess Deokyeong herself sounds like a compelling role — deeply religious, endlessly curious, and gifted in everything from incense-making to calligraphy. Pairing that energy with a stubborn, talented chef from another era sets up plenty of charming culture-clash moments.
