Upon examination, neither a pulse nor blood pressure could be detected. An ECG test was conducted in the ICU, where doctors pronounced him dead. The body was sent to KGMU for a post-mortem examination conducted under the supervision of a four-member medical board, with the entire procedure videographed.

The Investigation: Room Sealed, Devices Seized

Stepping up their investigation, the police sealed Prateek Yadav’s bedroom. Additionally, his mobile phone, laptop, and other electronic devices were seized. DCP Vikrant Veer stated that police are investigating the matter from every angle and that an update would be provided shortly. Dynamite News

According to sources, Prateek’s body and fingernails appeared slightly bluish, leading to suspicions of possible poisoning. However, doctors maintained that the actual cause of death would only become clear after the post-mortem and viscera reports are received. The initial post-mortem report reportedly showed no clear signs of foul play, though further forensic results are awaited.

A High-Profile Life Away from Politics

Prateek Yadav was the stepbrother of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. Despite belonging to one of Uttar Pradesh’s most influential political families, Prateek largely stayed away from active politics and focused on business and fitness ventures. After studying at the University of Leeds, he returned to Lucknow and became associated with the real estate sector and gym entrepreneurship.

He was also known to possess a collection of several expensive luxury cars and was involved in animal welfare activities through an organisation named “Jeev Ashray,” which worked for the rescue and care of stray dogs. India TV News

In January, the couple had filed a divorce petition, with Prateek accusing Aparna of damaging family ties. In an Instagram post, he wrote: “I am going to divorce this selfish woman as soon as possible. She ruined my family ties. All she wants is to become famous and influential.” However, they did not pursue the divorce case further. The Week

At the time of the incident, Aparna Yadav was not in Lucknow — she had reportedly travelled to Somnath Temple and later to Assam, and immediately began her journey back after receiving news of her husband’s demise. India TV News
