Mousetrap Teaser: Ryu Jun Yeol Fights to Reclaim His Stolen Identity in Netflix’s Chilling New Thriller

A man wakes up to find his face, his name, and his entire life stolen — that’s the terrifying hook behind Netflix’s newest K-thriller, Mousetrap. The streamer just dropped the main poster and teaser, and it’s already got fans buzzing over its doppelgänger mystery.

Based on a popular webtoon, the show follows reclusive novelist Moon Jae, played by Ryu Jun Yeol, who loses everything to a mysterious figure known only as “The Rat” — a man with his exact face. Desperate to reclaim his identity, Moon Jae is dragged into an uneasy alliance with No Ja (Sol Kyung Gu), a loan shark chasing his own missing money, while detective Sun Yong (Lee Kyu Hyung) investigates the case from the outside, growing more confused about who’s real and who’s fake.

What the Teaser Reveals

The trailer opens with a jarring reveal — The Rat stepping out of the shadows wearing Moon Jae’s exact face. From there, things escalate fast: an attack from No Ja, an unlikely alliance to hunt down The Rat, and a tagline that sets the tone perfectly — “A deadly pursuit to find myself.” The final moments promise hand-to-hand combat, shootouts, and car chases, blending high-stakes action with psychological suspense.

When Can You Watch It?

Mousetrap premieres on Netflix on August 28. While you wait, fans can catch Ryu Jun Yeol in Alienoid: Return to the Future or revisit Sol Kyung Gu in The Moon for a preview of what these two powerhouse actors bring to the screen.
