Motorola had scheduled the launch of its anticipated Edge Series in India for the 17th of August at 12 PM. The devices have now launched and their specs are out along with their prices.
Following are the specs of the Motorola Edge 20 and Edge 20 Fusion:
Motorola Edge 20
Motorola has dubbed the Edge 20 as the slimmest and lightest 5G device to launch in India. The Edge 20 sports a 6.7″ Full HD+ OLED display with a resolution of 2460x1080p, it has a screen aspect ratio of 20:9, a high refresh rate of 144Hz, and up to 576Hz Touch sensitivity in Game Time Mode. Motorola claims that this is the world’s highest touch sampling rate.
The device has a peak brightness of 450 nits and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection with an anti-fingerprint coating.
The Edge 20 has a slim construction along with a unique aluminum alloy frame that is designed to be ultra-light while ensuring the strength of the device. The smooth matter finish also reflects light.
Coming to the processor, the Edge 20 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset with an Octa-Core processor. It runs on Android 11 OS out-of-the-box. Motorola has also pledged to provide up to 2 years of security updates for the Edge 20 and it will also be getting Android 12 and Android 13 as and when they release.
The Edge 20 has a triple-camera setup on the rear with a 108MP primary sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens for the best camera experience, it also supports 4K recording The rear camera has a 30x super-zoom capability. It will feature a 32MP selfie shooter on the front.
Apart from this, the Motorola Edge 20 comes in an 8GB+128GB variant, it carries support for NFC, has IP52 water and dust-proof rating along with Wi-Fi 6E. The device has a 4,000mAh battery and face unlock along with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Motorola has released the Edge 20 with Business Grade Security with ThinkShield for Mobile. The device comes in a Frosted Pearl and a Frosted Emerald colorway and retails for 29,999 INR. It goes on sale from the 24th of August at 12PM on Flipkart.com.
Motorola Edge 20 Fusion
The Motorola Edge 20 Fusion has a 6,67″ display with a resolution of 2400x1800p, it has a Full HD+AMOLED Display, a fair refresh rate of 90Hz along with support for HDR10.
The Edge 20 Fusion is powered by the MediaTek Dimentsity 800U chipset, it has an Octa-Core processor and runs on Android 11 OS out-of-the-box. Motorola has not yet specified anything about how many OS or security updates the Edge 20 Fusion is eligible for.
Coming to the camera specs of the device, the Edge 20 Fusion sports a triple-camera setup on the rear with a 108MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture, an 8MP Ultra-Wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth camera with f/2.4 aperture.
The device has a 32MP front camera similar to the Edge 20.
Motorola has equipped the Edge 20 Fusion with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 30W Turbo Power Charging, it gives 12 hours of battery life with just 10 minutes of charge!
Motorola has integrated the ThinkShield for Mobile in the device which protects your personal data at all times. The Edge Fusion will launch in an 8GB+128GB variant in a Cyber Teal and Electric Graphite colorway. The device will officially retail for 22,999 INR and will go on sale from the 24th of August on Flipkart.
Motorola has enabled the ‘Ready For’ feature in both the Edge 20 and Edge 20 Fusion, this feature enables you to seamlessly access your mobile apps and PC files on the same screen, you can simultaneously work on two files while switching between devices with ease.
