Moto G200 will launch next month with a 144Hz refresh rate and Snapdragon 888 SoC

The Motorola Edge S launched in China earlier this year as the first smartphone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. The phone later made it out of China as the Moto G100 to other markets.

Now reports have emerged that point out the successor of the device is on the way and it is expected to launch as the Moto G200 as early as next month.

The first mention of the Moto G200 was on Twitter courtesy of reliable tipster Evan Blass or @evleaks who revealed that the phone is codenamed ‘Yukon’. Now the folks at TechnikNews have revealed more details about the phone.

The source reports that the Moto G200 will have an FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The display type is not mentioned but there is a high chance that it is an OLED panel similar to that of the Motorola Edge 20 Pro/ Motorola Edge S Pro.

The Moto G200 will switch the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC for the Snapdragon 888 chipset which will be paired with 8GB RAM.

It will also replace the 64MP sensor on its predecessor with a Samsung S5KHM2 108MP sensor that we saw in the Edge 20 Pro. It will also feature a 13MP ultrawide angle camera which should be able to shoot macro shots and a 2MP depth sensor as well.

For those who were not big fans of the double-punch hole camera of the Moto G100, well cheer up because the successor has a single 16MP selfie shooter!

There is no specific date set for the launch of the device.
