The electric two-wheeler space is growing rapidly in India and this is evident by the rate at which people are opting for electric scooters and electric bikes. Companies like Ola Electric, Simple Energy, Kabira Mobility, and Revolt Motors have amassed a large number of bookings for their electric two-wheelers. Joining this list is eBikeGo that has received over 1 lakh orders for Rugged EV.

Just a few weeks ago, the company launched its first electric scooter ‘Rugged’ and it has got a phenomenal response from the market. As per the company, more than 1 lakh units of the new eBikeGo Rugged electric scooter have already been booked within two months of its official launch.

According to the company, eBikeGo has received 1,06,650 paid bookings for the Rugged electric scooter worth Rs 1,000 crores till date. In this period of time, the company has even closed master franchises of Rugged in three Indian states, namely Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra. Simultaneously, eBikeGo has also partnered with a total number of twenty-two dealership stores in Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai and Bihar along with one cost & freight agent. The company is further planning to expand its reach to ten more states, including Gujarat, Delhi and Rajasthan.

ebikeGo is expected to receive around 50,000 more orders for the Rugged electric two-wheeler by Diwali. Interestingly, the company has started a referral programme to rack up more sales. This referral programme will provide the referrer and referee with a discount of ₹1,000 when purchasing the electric moto-scooter.

eBikeGo Rugged is powered by two 1.9 kWh swappable batteries that power a bushless DC electric motor to generate nominal power of 2 bhp and 4 bhp of peak power. This setup allows the scooter to attain a top speed of 75 km/h and offers a riding range of up to 160 km per charge in Eco mode while Power mode drops the range to 130 km/charge.

According to the two-wheeler maker, the Rugged can be fully charged in four hours while swapping the battery takes a minute. As a reminder, the bikes are relatively cheap due to the electric vehicle incentive regime in place in India. The base variant is priced at Rs. 79,999 ($1,079) while the G1+ comes in at Rs. 89,999 ($1,214).
