A Cult Web Series Finally Hits Cinemas

Backed by Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios, Mirzapur: The Movie marks the crime-thriller universe’s first full theatrical outing, arriving in cinemas nationwide on September 4. Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, who has helmed several episodes of the original series, the film slots into the timeline between Episodes 6 and 7 of Season 1 — giving longtime fans a fresh, parallel story rather than simply continuing where Season 3 left off.

The film brings back its most iconic faces: Pankaj Tripathi as the ruthless Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal reprising Guddu Pandit, and Divyenndu making a much-anticipated comeback as Munna Tripathi — a character whose legacy, despite his fate in the series, clearly continues to shape the world of Mirzapur.

A Stacked Ensemble Cast

Mirzapur The Movie OTT Release Date: Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu & Munna Return To The Big Screen First. Joining the trio is a large returning ensemble, including Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi, Shweta Tripathi Sharma as Golu Gupta, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Abhishek Banerjee. The film also introduces new faces to the franchise, with Jitendra Kumar stepping into the role of Bablu Pandit — a character originally played by Vikrant Massey in the series — alongside Ravi Kishan and Mohit Malik, who is reportedly playing a key antagonist.

Early Reception

Early reviews have been largely enthusiastic, with critics calling the film a “peak mass entertainer” that translates the show’s gritty energy into a genuinely big-screen experience, despite pacing that some reviewers note leans overindulgent in scale. The consensus so far points to a slow build followed by a power-packed climax that rewards longtime fans of the franchise.

So, When Will It Stream Online?

Here’s the honest answer: no official OTT release date or platform has been confirmed yet. Given that Amazon MGM Studios is presenting the film and Prime Video remains the franchise’s original streaming home, industry expectations strongly point toward a Prime Video premiere once the theatrical run concludes. Until an official announcement is made, though, that remains speculation rather than confirmation.

What To Expect Next

Based on typical release windows for major Hindi theatrical films, an OTT premiere is likely anywhere from four to eight weeks after the cinema run winds down. We’ll update this space the moment Amazon MGM Studios or Excel Entertainment confirm a streaming date.

For now, Mirzapur: The Movie belongs to the big screen — but its digital homecoming is only a matter of time. Bookmark this page for the official OTT release date the moment it drops.
