Mirzapur Crosses ₹200 Crore: The Movie That Just Won’t Slow Down at the Box Office

Some films open big and fade fast. “Mirzapur: The Movie” is doing the opposite — grinding out a steady, disciplined run that just crossed a major milestone.

The gritty crime-action thriller, set in the underworld of Mirzapur, has now netted over Rs 200 crore at the Indian box office, adding Rs 2.75 crore on its third Friday to push the total to Rs 201.25 crore nett.

Mirzapur: The Numbers So Far

The film opened to a massive Rs 145 crore in its first week alone, then settled into a steady second-week groove before this latest milestone.

What’s Driving the Momentum?

“Mirzapur: The Movie” is an interquel set within the timeline of the show’s first season, following the ruthless Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi and his iron grip over the city. The built-in fanbase of the hit web series has clearly translated into steady theatrical footfalls even three weeks in — a rare feat for films competing with fresh weekly releases.

The franchise itself draws on the real-world reputation of Mirzapur, a city in Uttar Pradesh long associated in pop culture with crime syndicates and political intrigue, lending the story its gritty authenticity.

With a modest but consistent third-Friday number, all eyes now turn to the weekend. A strong Saturday-Sunday push could meaningfully boost the film’s final tally and cement its status as one of 2026’s most durable theatrical performers.
