Mike Tyson’s TYSON Docuseries on Netflix: Release Date, Episode Count and What the Four-Part Story Covers

Few athletes have lived a life as loud, dramatic and divisive as Mike Tyson’s. Now Netflix is telling that story in full, with the docuseries TYSON arriving on October 13, 2026. For more streaming and sports news, keep reading TechnoSports.

TYSON : Overview

What Is TYSON About?

The series follows the “Baddest Man on the Planet” from his meteoric rise to the personal struggles that made headlines. Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champion in history at age 20 in 1986, and Netflix describes the show as an unflinching look at the man behind the gloves. It will draw on archival footage and interviews with Tyson himself.

The story doesn’t shy away from the rough parts. Netflix says it will cover a period of incarceration, money troubles, substance abuse and in-ring controversies, along with his eventual redemption.

Why Netflix, and Why Now?

Tyson is already part of Netflix history. He fought Jake Paul on November 16, 2024, in Netflix’s first-ever live boxing event, which tens of millions of people watched around the world. Netflix announced the docuseries in December 2024, just after that fight.

Tyson said the project would be a challenging but welcome journey. He explained that being honest about your life means facing the good and the bad rather than casting yourself as the hero.

An Extra Episode

Originally announced as three parts, the series now runs four episodes. With a life this eventful, an extra hour of storytelling makes sense. Floyd Russ, known for Untold: Malice at the Palace, directs.
