Microsoft announces Xbox Scarlett by Phil Spencer at E3 2019: powered by Zen 2 CPUs and Navi GPUs, will support Ray Tracing and 8K

The much awaited Xbox console has been announced by Microsoft at E3 2019. The new Xbox Scarlet is promised to be 4X more powerful than the last gen Xbox One X.

Microsoft and Sony have been edging the rivalry since ages for their gaming consoles. So, both the arch-rivals have been teasing the specs and features to the gamers lately.

Microsoft's upcoming Xbox Scarlett will have Ray Tracing and 8K Support

The upcoming Xbox Scarlett will be based on AMD’s 7nm chips, i.e. Zen 2 (octa-core) CPU and a custom developed Navi GPUs. Also, it will have support for up to 8K resolution and up to 120 FPS.

Xbox Head Phil Spencer made some bold announcements at the gaming event similar to Sony’s Mark Cerny including ray-tracing and faster NVMe SSD storage.

Sony Corp has also disclosed some plans about its next-generation PlayStation 5 console, including similar AMD CPUs and GPUs, no official release date has been announced yet, but analysts expect a late 2020 release for the upcoming PS5 consoles.

The game load times will increase up to 40 times over the present Xbox One and the SSD will also be used for caching and paging to further reduce the loading times. It will also have a dedicated sound card.

The latest version of Microsoft’s popular “Halo” gaming title will be launched along with the new console. Microsoft even announced 14 game titles from Xbox Game Studios, including latest shooter video game “Gears 5.”

“Two months ago we connected all Xbox developers to Project xCloud,” Phil Spencer, said. “Now, the console streaming service will “turn your Xbox One into your own personal and free xCloud server.”

“Whether you’re using a console in our data centre or your console at home, this October you’ll be able to use our hybrid gaming cloud to play your games wherever you go. Where you play is now entirely your choice,” Spencer said.

The announcement trailer also hinted of cross-platform and cross-device play which has been previously unseen. It also teased that “four generations of content that look and feel unlike anything before.”

So now its a matter of time about the upcoming Xbox Scarlett and it will be released in Holiday 2020.
