Apple’s chips are clocked to complement the software. Users get the best performance and battery life on a MacBook with M-series chips and macOS optimised. It also gives you more control over your hardware in terms of performance and power efficiency. Apple is currently developing its M3 chip, which will be manufactured on TSMC’s 3nm architecture. According to the report, Microsoft is developing Windows 12 with optimisations for custom silicon.

Windows 12 is set to be released next year, with a slew of new features that will take advantage of Microsoft’s custom chips. In terms of AI-centric features, the next-generation operating system could potentially benefit from the custom ARM chip. It is important to note that it is too early to draw any conclusions because Microsoft has the final say.

Furthermore, Apple is far ahead of the competition when it comes to custom chips, and the company is preparing to release the third-generation chip based on 3nm architecture. With the M3 chip, we expect higher performance gains and longer battery life.
