The pandemic video conferencing platforms have seen an increase in their demands and thus have become valuable assets. Out of all the companies out there, Zoom has seen tremendous growth in popularity. Enough to make Microsoft consider it it’s rival.

To take on Zoom, Microsoft Teams has now provided an all-day video calling option that can be used for free. The service allows you to create a Microsoft Teams meeting for up to 300 friends and family that can run all day free of charge.

Users won’t need a Microsoft Account or the Microsoft Teams app to join calls; it can be entered for free via a web browser. It will also support seeing up to 49 friends or family members in a gallery view.

Due to the pandemic, travel has been banned for the upcoming Thanksgiving festival, and Microsoft seems to be targeting this to increase its subscriber base. It says that the new feature will help connect the families during the festival.

With the 24-hour limit on meeting length and easy-to-use web app, Teams suddenly looks like Eden’s apple among video conferencing apps. Zoom also plans to lift its 40-minute limit during Thanksgiving. While other competitors like Google Meet (60-minute limit) and Cisco Webex (50-minute limit) have similar restrictions. The Redmond-based giant has been eagerly trying to push its skype video call service for its competitors’ best alternative. But honestly, I think we all have forgotten that skype even exists in the first place.

Again the free video calling feature will not require users to have a Microsoft account to join the meeting and be used via the web browser. The meeting limit is 24-hour, and it can easily accommodate up to 300 people.
