Microsoft Debuts Copilot for Gaming Beta on iOS and Android with Personalized Xbox Assistant Features

Microsoft says Copilot for Gaming is built to be the “ultimate sidekick” for gamers. It functions as a second-screen companion that screens in helpful information without disrupting the main gameplay. The AI assistant knows what game the user is playing and has access to the user’s Xbox profile, including their history of play, activity, and achievements. This allows it to provide a much more tailored support, respond to the specific questions people have about games, and even provide web links to sites that will help you when necessary.

For example, a user can inquire what materials are needed to make a sword in Minecraft, get tips on how to beat a boss such as Rougarou in South of Midnight, or ask what new RPG games are out for Xbox. Copilot can also respond to queries like the hardest achievement in Avowed, offer a horror game recommendation depending on the user’s watching habits, inform when the last achievement was unlocked in Starfield, and remind the user when Game Pass is due for renewal.

Microsoft also intends to improve the feature over time by including more personalization, more intelligent responses, and proactive suggestions that are specific to one’s playing style. Those already involved in the beta can also submit feedback via the Xbox app. This can be done by accessing the “More Options” menu in the app’s top-left corner or rating Copilot’s answers with a thumbs-up or thumbs-down.
