Xiaomi’s CEO confirmed the launch of Mi Mix 4 and Mi Pad 5

Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, is reportedly planning to address the OEM’s fans during an upcoming August 2021 speech. This announcement has led to rumors that the executive will unveil 2 of the company’s most hotly-awaited new devices during this event: the Mi Pad 5 and Mi Mix 4 smartphone. It is also possible that new members of the CC series could follow shortly.

Lately, Xiaomi has launched an official live video program dedicated to the fans. Although he has not directly announced any information regarding Mi MIX 4, however, according to the official announcement, Xiaomi will hold a “2021 Lei Jun Annual Lecture” at 7:30 pm on August 10 (next Tuesday). The event is titled: “10 most difficult choices of Lei Jun revealed” and will be the time to announce these two devices.

Mi Mix 4 and Mi Pad 5 may launch during an upcoming speech from Xiaomi's CEO

From the rumors, the new phone that Lei Jun will announce this time is very likely to be the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4. This will be the return of the Xiaomi MIX series and will continue the previous MIX spirit of exploring the full-screen design of smartphones.

According to the news, it will be equipped with under-screen camera technology for the first time, which will perfectly hide the front camera notch and achieve a true full-screen effect. Moreover, it is mentioned that in addition to the full screen, Xiaomi Mi MIX might be based on the ceramic body which is the highest built quality offered by Xiaomi.

As for the Mi Pad 5, the new generation of Xiaomi Mi Pad series will feature a Snapdragon 870 SoC, and have a 10.95-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2K+, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate, and providing extremely smooth performance. It will also support a stylus similar to the iPad Pro series.

The Mi Mix 4 and Mi Pad 5 are arguably the most eagerly anticipated Xiaomi devices in quite some time, but they could launch in one of the busiest weeks of the year. Samsung will unveil its new products on August 11, while Chinese rival Honor is set to launch the Magic 3 a day later.
