Messi to Barcelona: the complicated signing and Javier Tebas’ Say on It

Messi to Barcelona – LaLiga president makes things clear ahead of Summer transfer window

LaLiga President Javier Tebas had a word with RMC Sport on Thursday, and one of the significant topics was the pending free agency of Lionel Messi.

What’s the complication with Messi signing for Barcelona? Javier Tebas speaks

PSG’s contract with Messi is expiring this June, and the star’s former club, Barcelona, is leaving no stone unturned to bring him back. However, according to Tebas, there are certain complications with the signing.

The utmost hurdle is the club’s finances, and La Liga needs to approve a deal where the Catalans adhere to their salary cap.

Speaking of the same, Tebas said,

“If you ask me the question today, Messi’s return to Barca is very complicated. We have to see how that will evolve, but several conditions would have to be met, Barca players would have to leave, and there would have to be a reduction in wages.

And then you have to know what salary Messi would have at Barca. Barca is not like PSG, which has a gas and a money tap, which allows it to have a large payroll. As we speak, it’s complicated for Messi to return to Barca.”

Where, if not Barcelona?

In case PSG decides to let go of the Argentina legend and Camp Nou is unable to bring him back, he might consider the MLS.

Inter Miami has had a link with the seven times Ballon d’Or winter. If Europe is no longer an option, the FIFA 2023 World Cup winner might move to the United States, and South Florida could be the destination.

Messi must make a quick decision regarding where he wants to be this summer. If the legend returns to Barca, that will be an emotional moment for millions of global fans.
