What Is Men of the Harem About?

The story follows Latil, a woman scorned by her lover and unexpectedly thrust into power following the mysterious assassination of her father. To secure her sovereignty over the kingdom of Tarium, she must marry — but instead of choosing a single Royal Consort, she selects five young men from completely different walks of life to join her Harem.

As she navigates the political minefield of ruling, managing five very different men, and trying to keep the peace within her court, Latil must also unravel the truth behind her father’s murder. It is a historical fantasy with genuine thriller bones underneath all the romance — exactly the kind of layered premise that makes for obsessive viewing.

The Five-Strong Lead Cast

Bae Suzy plays Latil, and is best known to Netflix subscribers for starring in Genie, Make a Wish, Doona, Vagabond, and Start-Up. whats-on-netflix

Her five co-leads are Lee Soo Hyuk, Yoo Jung Hoo, Shin Seung Ho, and Kim Dan — with Ji Chang Wook confirmed in a guest role. The creative team behind the camera is equally exciting: director Lee Eung Bok (Sweet Home) and screenwriter Hwang Jin Young (My Dearest) are two of the most trusted names in Korean prestige drama right now.

Filming has been underway since mid-May 2026, with the production even travelling to Kazakhstan between May 14 and June 26, 2026 for location shoots — a sign of the epic scale the team is going for.
