MediaTek is preparing to launch a new chipset under its Dimensity 9400 series, with strong speculation pointing to the debut of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e. This chip is proposed to be some kind of tweaked or binned version of the vanilla Dimensity 9400 and should ideally cater to a midrange phone audience.
The launch of the second-gen SoC is scheduled for next week, as per a post on MediaTek’s official Weibo account, and the new processor might make its debut alongside the upcoming OnePlus Ace 5V, while the Vivo X200 FE is also rumored to be powered by this chip.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400e to Launch Soon: May Power OnePlus Ace 5V, Rival Snapdragon 8s Gen 4
The Dimensity 9400e is expected to replace the Dimensity 9300+, which was introduced in May this year. Someone who calls himself a tipster, Digital Chat Station, is sure that specially optimized cores for the new chip, and he/she even add that it can outperform the Dimensity 9300+. He even speculates that the 9400e might just be a rebranded Dimensity 9350 SoC.
However, alleged performance leaks claim that the OnePlus Ace 5G running on this processor has an AnTuTu score of around 2.1 million and should cruise by with frames per second on the GFXBench Aztec 1440p graphics benchmark.
The chip will be competing with Qualcomm’s soon-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, putting it squarely up against other high-end midrange and upper-midrange chips. For reference, the Dimensity 9300+ comprises one Cortex-X4 prime core that can go up to 3.40GHz, three Cortex-X4 performance cores that run at 2.85GHz, and four Cortex-A720 efficiency cores at 2.00GHz.
It is paired with a 12-core Immortalis-G720 GPU that supports ray tracing and includes advanced features such as AI large language model support, MediaTek Adaptive Gaming Technology, and the Network Observation System (NOS). This chip is built using TSMC’s advanced third-generation 4nm+ process, setting a high benchmark that the Dimensity 9400e is expected to match or exceed.
