Nottingham Forest are set to sign Matt Turner from Arsenal in the coming days. The Tricky Trees are set to agree a deal worth £7 million for the American, who joined the North London club last year. He didn’t play for them in the Premier League, but made several appearances in the Europa League and the FA Cup.
Turner will be the first-choice keeper for Forest, who managed to stay up and avoid relegation. They had Keylor Navas and Dean Henderson on loan from PSG and Manchester United respectively. And now, they have settled on a long-term option in Matt Turner.
Nottingham Forest close to signing Matt Turner in permanent deal
The American is close to completing his medical for Forest, and his arrival will be officially announced very soon. He has impressed whenever called upon by Mikel Arteta, but wasn’t preferred over Aaron Ramsdale.
Arsenal are expected to sign David Raya as the replacement for the former New England Revolution goalkeeper. The Spaniard had offers from Tottenham and Bayern, but has chosen Arsenal as the club he wants to join.
Brentford and Arsenal are now in talks for the move to go through. The Bees want a transfer fee in the region of £40 million for the player. And it remains to be seen whether Arteta’s side will pay that much for a goalkeeper who will probably be their second choice.
The player only wants a move to Arsenal, and the two London clubs will have to reach an agreement over a fee for the move to go through. Brentford have already signed Mark Flekken as their new goalkeeper, and are anticipating Raya to leave this summer.
