The Equilibrium Dungeon introduces encounter-specific challenges that push even veteran Guardians to their limits. Completing all three challenges with the Feat: Encounter Challenges debuff active unlocks the prestigious “Challenger Approaches” triumph—essential for earning your dungeon seal. Here’s your streamlined roadmap to conquering every challenge mechanic.

Destiny 2: All Encounter Challenges Overview

Encounter	Challenge Name	Core Requirement
Harvester Boarding	Bike Shot Finale	Defeat red Apprentice using Bike ammunition only
Harrow Boss	Consistent Stunning	Stun boss every time he emits Taken essence
Dredgen Sere Boss	Swift Ball Destruction	Destroy one Taken ball within 10 seconds of teleporting

Challenge 1: Harvester Boarding – Bike Shot Finale

This challenge requires precise coordination between bike riders and ground support. When facing the invulnerable red Cabal Apprentice, players collecting the Shadow’s Novice buff must remain mounted on their bikes throughout the phase. One fireteam member dismounts to strip the Apprentice’s shield using Shadow Power, then the bike-mounted players deliver the killing blow using their bike’s ammunition.

Key Strategy: Designate one player as the shield-breaker before starting. Bike riders should position themselves for clear shots once the shield drops, as timing is critical for this challenge completion.

Challenge 2: Harrow – Consistent Stunning

Harrow’s challenge demands flawless execution of the Shadow Novice stunning mechanic. Every time Harrow emits Taken essence—which occurs in each of the three outer rooms and once more in the central section before damage phase—you must stun him immediately using your Shadow Novice ability.

Timing is Everything: Watch for the visual cue when Harrow begins emitting the dark energy. Missing even one stun opportunity fails the entire challenge, so communication between fireteam members about ability cooldowns is essential.

Challenge 3: Dredgen Sere – Swift Ball Destruction

The final boss challenge tests your realm-switching efficiency. After teleporting to either the standard or Taken realm, you have exactly 10 seconds to destroy at least one Taken ball in the middle arena. Fail this timer, and the challenge resets.

Pro Strategy: Before teleporting, weaken a Taken ball to near-death but don’t destroy it. When you return to that realm, you can instantly finish it off, easily beating the 10-second timer. The optimal loop: damage a ball → teleport → complete other realm mechanics → teleport back → instant destruction → repeat.

Rewards & Completion Tips

Successfully completing all challenges earns you the Challenger Approaches triumph and progress toward your Equilibrium seal. The dungeon features six legendary weapons with the Imperial Allegiance origin trait, plus the exotic Heirloom bow for Contest Mode clears.

Recommended Loadout: Prioritize burst damage weapons like Parasite or Gjallarhorn for boss phases. Include at least one Well of Radiance Warlock for survivability during Sere’s damage phase.

Do I need to complete all three challenges in a single run?

No, you can complete each challenge separately across multiple runs. However, to earn the triumph, you must activate the “Feat: Encounter Challenges” modifier before starting each attempt. Your progress saves individually per encounter, so tackle them one at a time if coordination proves difficult.

What happens if someone in my fireteam dies during a challenge attempt?

Deaths don’t automatically fail challenges unless the entire team wipes. As long as at least one Guardian survives and you meet the specific challenge requirements (stunning Harrow, destroying balls within 10 seconds, etc.), the challenge remains active. However, reviving teammates quickly is crucial since most challenges require coordinated actions.
