The night of the Game Awards was indeed a splendid one, and we witnessed announcements of some big upcoming projects. One of them was Marvel’s Blade by Arkane Lyon.
Yes, we know what you all are thinking; this gaming studio is pretty famous around the world for its projects. While some are super hits, like Deathloop winning numerous Game of the Year awards, some are not, like Redfall.
After the disappointment from Redfall, players all across the world were wondering what the next project would be. And now, at the Game Awards, the gaming studio has announced its next project. To learn more details about it, let’s dive into our article.
Arkane Lyon’s Next Project Marvel’s Blade
Marvel’s blade will be a trademark open–ended game, however featuring another perspective. The gameplay will be in a third–person and single-player. Marvel’s Blade will be based on action–adventure genre.
The setting of the game will be in walled – in the version of Paris surrounded by vampires. The project is still in its early development and possibly will be launched for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
With the announcement of the next project of Arkane Lyon, Marvel Games creative director Bill Rosemann shared his words at the Game Awards:
“The secret superpower of Marvel games is bringing together world-class talent with the fan-favorite characters that they love. We are huge fans of Arkane Lyon, not only because of the story-rich games they create with innovative gameplay but also because of their authentic passion. And that’s why, on Blade’s 50th anniversary, we are so honored to announce this true Marvel team-up.
The Arkane touch fits Blade like his trademark trench coat. It’s a mature action-adventure game, single-player, where you get to play as Blade your way. For true believers, it’s a dream come true.
With him, game director Dinga Bakaba also shared his feelings and to how to tackle Marvel’s Blade.
“After Dishonored and Deathloop, our first order of business was to make another very Arkane game, but with a title that’s easier to say in a French accent. And when we had an opportunity to chat with Marvel we said, ‘Okay, let’s really challenge them.’ Let’s present the wildest take on a superhero we both love.
[Blade is] the daywalker. Blade is half–man, half–vampire, torn between the warm society of the living and the rushing power of the undead. As a kid of mixed origins, his dual – heritage resonated with me. So, yes, it is a dream to be making a game about Blade in Paris, my hometown. If my hometown was walled – in and infested with blood–thirsty invaders that come out as soon as the sun goes down.”
As the marvel’s blade is still in its early stage of development we don’t know any further details. Also, the team hasn’t any other information regarding the game.
