Marina Granovskaia to leave Chelsea after 9 years in charge – official statement expected soon

Marina Granovskaia is set to leave Chelsea in the coming days, with an official statement expected to confirm the same. The Russian was in charge of transfers at the club, and was renowned for her negotiations which helped the Blues acquire key signings over the last decade. 

With the Roman Abramovich era now over, Granovskaia is set to leave the club. Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck is also set to step down from his position after almost 20 years in charge. An official statement from Chelsea has confirmed the departure of Buck at the end of the month. 

Marina Granovskaia to leave Chelsea soon 

There were rumours that the 47-year-old might be staying on despite the change in ownership. But now, it seems confirmed that she will be moving on from the Blues in the coming days. 

New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has taken charge of transfer negotiations recently, and is in talks with Inter over the transfer of Romelu Lukaku himself. For the time being, he is expected to be the chairman and the transfer negotiator for the West London outfit.

Thomas Tuchel is expected to have more control over transfers now that Marina Granovskaia and Bruce Buck are leaving. But, the club is in need of a director of football, and have been linked with Atletico Madrid’s Andrea Berta.
