Mandadi OTT Release: Soori’s Boat-Race Blockbuster Sails onto Netflix Today

Missed the ₹100 crore theatrical wave? Good news: Mandadi (officially spelled Mandaadi) has sailed onto Netflix today. This Tamil sports drama has already become Soori’s biggest hit as a lead actor, and now you can watch it from your couch.

Mandadi Release Date and Where to Watch

After a month-long theatrical run, the film streams exclusively on Netflix from October 8, 2026. It’s available in Tamil, with dubbed versions in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. That makes it easy for viewers across India to enjoy it in their own language.

What Is Mandadi About?

Soori plays Muthukaali, a once-gifted sailboat racer who fled his coastal hometown years ago over unresolved trauma and now lives quietly in Chennai as a lifeguard. When his friend’s son clashes with the family of Saattaappuli, the man now ruling the local racing scene, Muthukaali is dragged back home. Everything builds toward the Mandadi, a traditional sailboat race on the Tamil Nadu coast. It’s rivalry, pride and family, all packed into one high-stakes race.

Cast and Crew Highlights

Suhas makes his Tamil debut as the ruthless antagonist, a bold switch for the Telugu star. Mahima Nambiar and veteran Sathyaraj add emotional weight, with music by G.V. Prakash Kumar. Soori reportedly performed the risky sea stunts himself after months of sailing training, and that commitment shows in the action.

Why It’s Worth Watching

The film has crossed ₹100 crore in India and ₹150 crore worldwide, which is a huge milestone for an actor once known mostly for comedy. Critics and industry names have praised its grounded setting, real boat-racing sequences and Soori’s dramatic turn. If you enjoy sports dramas with local flavour, this is a strong weekend pick.
