Manchester United have extended their contract with Adidas as their kit provider until 2035. The Red Devils have agreed a £900 million deal, which sees them acquire the most expensive kit deal in the Premier League.
Their current earnings from the deal have increased significantly, with the club now entitled to around £90 million per season from the company. United have stated that the deal has given them confidence over a stable source of income for the future, with the club now entitled to a significant amount from Adidas yearly.
Manchester United announce renewal with Adidas as kit sponsors
‘Adidas and Manchester United Football Club are delighted to announce the extension of one of the most exciting, seminal partnerships in world sport,’ an official statement read.
‘Manchester United commenced a historic agreement with Adidas at the start of the 2015/16 season, reuniting after 23 years. In the seasons that have followed, adidas and Manchester United have excited fans around the world with forward-thinking initiatives, iconic designs on the pitch and fan favourite culturewear off of it.’
The club also indicated that they would focus on the women’s teams as well, due to the support provided by the new deal. United have managed to revive their fortunes on the pitch this past season, following the arrival of Erik Ten Hag.
The club returned to the Champions League and also won the EFL Cup, ending their six-year trophy drought. And now, they are set to increase their revenue further with a massive kit deal.
