Malayalam cinema is stepping onto streaming platforms with a lineup that’s equal parts gritty, musical, and nostalgic. Whether you’re in the mood for sports drama or a slice of Kerala’s footballing soul, this week’s OTT slate has something worth clearing your schedule for.

Balti headlines the week, starring Shane Nigam and Shanthnu Bhagyaraj. It follows Udhayan, a kabaddi player from Velampalayam whose association with a powerful financier drags him into a world far beyond the sport — until personal tragedy forces him back to the game in search of redemption.
Sing Geetham, directed by veteran filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, blends fantasy and music in the story of Kuberapuram, a village stripped bare by gold mining. When a sacred tree is destroyed, its guardian Gauri and returning heir Prathap must confront a strange curse that silences ordinary speech — forcing the village to communicate only in song.
Peddi, the Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer, traces a small-town athlete’s journey from cricket to wrestling to para-sport glory, set against the backdrop of a village fighting for recognition.
Rounding things out is Land of Football, a documentary tracing the sport’s 70-year legacy in Kerala, capturing the deep-rooted passion that has united generations of communities across the state. Football’s global roots run deep — as detailed on Wikipedia — and Kerala’s chapter in that story is one of the most passionate in India.
