Make Me Tingle: Nam Ji Hyun and Kim Jae Yeong’s Rom-Com Asks, Is It Heart or Body?

Every so often, a K-drama trailer arrives with a premise that’s hard to ignore. TVING’s upcoming Make Me Tingle has now released its main trailer and poster, and it promises a chaotic romantic comedy built on a clash of values. Ahead of its October 15 premiere, the trailer sets up the central question with a great deal of humour and some very awkward first impressions.

Make Me Tingle: Meet the Leads

Nam Ji Hyun plays Gong Yeon Su, a marketer who believes in love but has never really worked out what it means for her. She’s the eldest daughter of an extremely conservative, traditional family. Kim Jae Yeong plays Dokgo Dal, the confident, free-spirited CEO of a sex-toy startup who opens up an entirely new world for her. On paper, they have almost nothing in common.

How the Trailer Sets It Up?

The two meet first on a blind date arranged by her grandparents, where Dokgo Dal happily announces what his company does. They meet again in a professional setting, with Yeon Su as the marketer and Dal as her client. When she struggles with the unfamiliar product category, he tells her firmly that he can’t hand his promotion to someone who is prejudiced against his products.

Two Very Different Views on Intimacy

Their differences run deeper than business. Yeon Su doesn’t believe in intimacy without love, while Dal sees it as simply another part of communication. Unable to understand each other, they start off badly. Then Dal kisses her after a playful question about beer and a rainy day, and asks nothing more than that he simply wanted to. From there, the mood changes.

When Feelings Sneak In?

After the kiss, Yeon Su begins seeing him differently. She notices small things, like how nice his ears are, before scolding herself at night to stop thinking about it. The trailer ends with Dal boldly asking whether she was attracted to him. The poster shows the pair walking together late at night, with a tagline asking whether it’s her heart or her body that’s trembling.

Worth Watching?

If you enjoy opposites-attract stories, this looks like a lively, funny one. Note that its themes are clearly aimed at an adult audience. For more, browse our K-drama coverage on Technosports and our upcoming Korean drama guide.
