What’s the Story?

The premise is deliciously simple, and yet utterly compelling. Luka is an ambitious chef fighting to save her family’s restaurant. Dennis is the new hire her mother brings in to help. The catch? Luka absolutely cannot stand him.

What unfolds is a classic enemies-to-lovers dynamic wrapped inside the warmth of a family kitchen — think rich Indonesian flavours, messy family loyalties, and two people who clearly belong together but would rather fight about it first. It’s the kind of story that feels both deeply local and universally relatable, which is exactly why it has the ingredients to travel globally on Netflix.

Meet the Stars

Mawar Eva de Jongh, who plays Luka, is one of Indonesia’s biggest multi-hyphenate talents. A singer, actress, and model, she has released over 15 singles since 2018 and built an impressive film portfolio with titles like The Shadow Strays and What’s Up with Secretary Kim. She’s not just a familiar face — she’s a genuine draw.

Deva Mahenra, stepping into his first Netflix project as Dennis, brings a strong Indonesian film and TV pedigree, having starred in Blood Curse (Disney+) and Ghost Writer 1 & 2. The chemistry between the two leads is expected to be the heart of the entire series.

The supporting cast — including Sha Ine Febriyanti as Luka’s mother and Adipati Dolken — adds further depth and emotional texture to what promises to be a richly layered family story.

Why This One Deserves Your Watchlist

Netflix has been investing meaningfully in Southeast Asian originals, and Made with Love looks like a flagship romantic entry for the region in 2026. The food-and-romance combination has proven irresistible globally (Chef’s Table, The Bear, Midnight Diner), and setting that world within the context of an Indonesian family business gives it a fresh, distinct identity.
