Made In Korea 2: Power Has Shifted, And These Two Men Now Hold The Cards

Nine years can change everything — power, loyalty, even who’s really pulling the strings. Disney+’s Made in Korea returns with new stills revealing just how far two key players have climbed, and it sets up a season that promises to be even more ruthless than the first.

Where Season 1 Left Off

The original series followed Baek Ki Tae (Hyun Bin), a man consumed by ambition for wealth and power, and prosecutor Jang Geon Young (Jung Woo Sung), who sacrificed everything trying to stop him during a turbulent chapter of 1970s Korea. Their collision defined the season — and now, the fallout is catching up with everyone involved.

Made In Korea 2: A New Balance Of Power

Set nine years after the Season 1 finale, the sequel finds Baek Ki Tae at the absolute peak of his power, while Jang Geon Young has spent the intervening years quietly preparing his counterattack. Joining the fray is Baek Ki Hyun (Woo Do Hwan), Baek Ki Tae’s younger brother, who’s charting his own separate path to power — one that threatens to fracture the family beyond repair.

Two Characters, Two Very Different Climbs

Jung Sung Il returns as Chun Seok Jung, who has held onto his position as the second-most powerful figure beneath the VIP at the top of the political hierarchy. Once someone Baek Ki Tae looked up to, Chun Seok Jung has only grown more formidable — and his coming clash with the newly formed Joint Investigation Headquarters looks set to raise the stakes considerably.

Roh Jae Won plays Pyo Hak Soo, a former classmate of Baek Ki Tae’s from the Agency for National Security Planning. He’s since risen to become director of the agency’s Busan branch. The new stills capture him adjusting his wig in a mirror and locked in a tense phone standoff — small details that hint at a character now playing a much bigger game.

With both Chun Seok Jung and Pyo Hak Soo now wielding far more influence than before, the real question heading into the premiere is how these shifting power dynamics will reshape Baek Ki Tae’s grip on control.

Korean political dramas have increasingly gained international traction on global streaming platforms, with series blending historical settings and high-stakes power struggles drawing audiences well beyond Korea — a trend reflecting how streaming platforms have reshaped distribution for regional television content worldwide, as outlined on Wikipedia’s overview of streaming media.
