Building on the success of their earlier ventures like Stree, Bhediya, and Stree 2, Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films is ready to take its horror-comedy superhero universe to unprecedented heights.

The Rise of Maddock’s Horror Comedy Universe

Since 2018, Dinesh Vijan has consistently captivated audiences with his signature blend of horror and comedy. The filmmaker’s breakthrough came with Stree—a genre-defying film that featured Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. This venture established a new benchmark for Indian horror comedies and resonated with a diverse audience. Over the years, Maddock Films continued to explore this space with success, with films like Bhediya and Munjya, which found a strong following, especially in the post-pandemic era.

Now, the production house is set to push the envelope even further with a sprawling interconnected cinematic universe. As per an exclusive report from Pinkvilla, the upcoming slate from Maddock Films will introduce a fresh batch of characters and narratives, integrating supernatural elements with superheroic feats, all while maintaining the trademark humor.

A Stellar Line-Up: What to Expect from 2025 to 2028

The final phase of this universe will see a historic moment in Indian cinema—a two-part mega saga titled Mahayudh, set to be released in 2028. This ambitious project is expected to bring together the most beloved characters from across the Maddock Films universe in a high-octane, genre-defining spectacle. The first part, Pehla Mahayudh, will arrive on August 11, 2028, followed by Doosra Mahayudh during the Diwali season, on October 18, 2028.

The Mahayudh saga will serve as a grand narrative that brings together the diverse threads woven across the previous films, all set against the backdrop of an epic battle that will push the boundaries of horror and comedy in a way Indian cinema has never seen before.
