“Love in the Moonlight” Cast Is Reuniting 10 Years Later — And Fans Are Not Ready

Ten years is long enough for a hit drama to fade into nostalgia. It’s also long enough for its cast to become genuine global stars in their own right — which makes this reunion feel less like a throwback and more like a full-circle moment fans didn’t know they needed.

The Big Announcement

On August 13, KBS2 confirmed the broadcast schedule for its 10th anniversary special variety program tied to “Love in the Moonlight,” airing across two episodes on September 16 and September 23.

How the Reunion Came Together

According to the production team, it was Park Bo Gum who proposed marking the anniversary in a meaningful way, and the rest of the cast agreed without hesitation. The group traveled together to revisit old memories in a relaxed, familiar setting, reportedly recreating the same camaraderie that made the original set famous among fans.

Why “Love in the Moonlight” Still Matters

Adapted from a popular web novel, the drama told a coming-of-age palace romance between a crown prince and a cross-dressing eunuch, blending humor with heartfelt drama when it aired in 2016. It peaked at a 23.3% viewership rating and helped launch its cast toward the international recognition many of them now hold. The Joseon dynasty setting that shaped the drama’s palace backdrop is part of what gave the story its distinct charm.

The production team highlighted just how meaningful it is that five actors who rose to fame together are now leading figures across globally recognized K-content, making this reunion feel earned rather than manufactured.
