PSG Boss Reflects on His Debut

Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, said Lionel Messi brought more calmness to the club after he came in in the second half against Reims. He finally made his long-awaited PSG debut as a second-half substitute, but the game had already been settled.

PSG went into halftime with a two-goal lead, due to goals from KylianMbappe on each side of the halftime break, and comfortably won the game when Messi entered the fray. Pochettino was overjoyed by Messi’s reception from both Reims and PSG fans and explained that his compatriot brought a sense of calm to the team.

About the Debut Match

In the midst of a deal to Real Madrid, KylianMbappe was unquestionably the star of the show, putting up a fantastic showing. However, as Lionel Messi came on to replace Neymar in the 66th minute, all eyes were on him.

After coming on in the second half, Lionel Messi tried 21 passes and completed 20 of them. Even though he failed to create any clear-cut openings or complete any dribbles, he did not need to. PSG was cruising to victory, and it was maybe more crucial for Lionel Messi to have a feel for the game after not having had any pre-season.

We may see his finest after the international break as the Argentine works on his fitness in the following weeks.
