What’s New in LinkedIn’s Verification Toolkit?

Expanded Company Page Verification:
Small businesses with paid premium pages can now verify their profiles—previously, this option was reserved for large, established firms. This lets jobseekers assess genuine opportunities across all company sizes, building stronger trust networks.
Recruiter Workplace Verification:
Recruiters must prove their workplace, giving candidates peace of mind that they’re dealing with legitimate hiring professionals and reducing impersonation incidents.
Executive Job Title Verification:
Senior-level profiles (Managing Directors, Vice Presidents, etc.) must undergo additional checks to curtail fraud at top company tiers.

LinkedIn’s safety infrastructure also blocks over 99% of fake accounts and flagged scams before they reach users. From July–December 2024, 80.6 million suspicious profiles were stopped before signup.

Boosted Safety Features for Indian Jobseekers

LinkedIn’s commitment goes beyond verification badges. The platform promotes extra layers of security for all users:

Verification badges on job postings (shows poster or company is verified)
Message warnings (flags harmful content and scam attempts)
Job search filters (display only verified job posters/companies)
Passkeys (secure logins via fingerprint or facial recognition)
Two-step authentication (protects account access from new devices)

Experts say technology must be paired with awareness. LinkedIn India’s Aditi Jha urges users to never share bank details before onboarding, to reject suspicious requests, and to be cautious about “too good to be true” roles.
