What’s the Show Even About?

Created to mark America’s Semiquincentennial, the series drops Larry David into pivotal moments of U.S. history — from the Declaration of Independence to Rosa Parks’ bus ride — filtering each event through his trademark cringe comedy. Episode 6 revisited moments like Paul Revere’s ride, the Battle of the Alamo, and the Apollo 11 mission, setting the stage for a finale packed with callbacks. The show has pulled in a starry ensemble too, including Bill Hader, Kathryn Hahn, Jon Hamm, and Jerry Seinfeld, alongside Barack Obama himself making appearances.

Critically, the reception has been mixed but not without its fans — the series holds roughly a 60% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 35 reviews, according to Wikipedia, with critics noting flashes of David’s classic wit amid some repetitive sketches.

Should You Watch the Finale?

If you’ve stuck around for six weeks of Larry David bickering with historical icons, episode 7 promises a fitting, chaotic send-off — expect callbacks to earlier sketches and a heavy dose of self-aware humor about America’s milestone anniversary.
