Lenin Trailer Out: Akhil Akkineni Returns With His Most Intense Action Avatar Yet

Akhil Akkineni is back, and this time he’s trading slick spy gadgets for raw village grit. The trailer for his upcoming film Lenin has dropped, and it shows the actor in a far more emotional, hard-hitting space than fans saw in his last outing, Agent.

Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, the action drama follows a young man caught between unspoken village rules and a love story that spirals into a massive confrontation. The roughly three-minute trailer balances brute action with genuine vulnerability — a combination Akhil seems to be leaning into wholeheartedly.

Lenin: Overview

The film also features Sivaji, Brahmaji, Getup Srinu, Easwari Rao, and Sudharshan in supporting roles. Interestingly, Sreeleela was originally cast as the female lead but exited due to scheduling conflicts, paving the way for Bhagyashri Borse to step in.

Lenin has had a bumpy road to theaters — it was first slated for May 1, 2026, then moved to avoid clashing with Ram Charan’s Peddi, before finally settling on its July 10 release.

For Akhil, this marks a comeback after Agent, a spy thriller co-starring Mammootty that underwhelmed both critics and audiences. Lenin appears to be a course correction, banking on emotional depth alongside action.
