Fans waiting for Akhil Akkineni’s big comeback have a fresh date to circle — and this time it comes straight from the family. “Lenin” has been pushed once again, but with a heartfelt note from Nagarjuna Akkineni himself, the wait suddenly feels worth it.

Nagarjuna Akkineni officially announced on social media that Lenin has been postponed and will now release on July 10, 2026. In his note, he shared that the team approached him asking for a little more time to deliver their absolute best, and his confidence in their passion made him agree, promising fans “a new Akhil”.

Reportedly, the visual effects and final editing work are still ongoing, prompting the makers to take this extra time. This isn’t the first shift either — Lenin was originally slated for May 1, 2026, before being moved to June 26 to avoid clashing with Ram Charan’s Peddi, which has itself since been rescheduled to June 4.

What’s the Film About?

Set against a village backdrop, Lenin explores intense family conflicts and power struggles centered around the issue of honour, woven together with a passionate love story. Interestingly, Sreeleela was originally cast opposite Akhil and a glimpse featuring her was even released, but she exited due to scheduling conflicts, leading to Bhagyashri Borse stepping into the female lead role.

Akhil Akkineni was last seen alongside Mammootty in the action drama Agent, which underperformed at the box office and received negative reviews. Meanwhile, Nagarjuna recently played the main antagonist in Coolie opposite Rajinikanth and is now set to headline the tentatively titled King100.
