Just when you thought K-drama premises couldn’t get quirkier — here comes a rom-com about a rookie diplomat accidentally assigned to handle monsters, and Lee Junho might be leading it as a literal dragon. On June 12, a media outlet reported that Lee Junho will star as the male lead in the upcoming drama “Embassy for Foreign Monsters in Korea,” and in response, his agency O3 Collective stated that he has received the offer and is reviewing it positively.

So what exactly is this show about? “Embassy for Foreign Monsters in Korea” is a mysterious rom-com about a human rookie diplomat who is accidentally assigned to an embassy that manages monsters living in South Korea, run by an ambassador who turns out to be a dragon in disguise. Yes, you read that right.

And Lee Junho’s potential role? Even better. He’s been offered the role of Cha Yeon, a water deity who controls water, the head of the world’s most mysterious embassy, and a dragon who has been unable to leave the land for 1,200 years. A 1,200-year-old dragon stuck doing diplomatic paperwork — honestly, relatable.

The creative team behind this is no joke either. It will be directed by Bae Hyun Jin of “Hierarchy” and written by Shin Ha Eun of “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” with a reported premiere in 2027 via tvN.
