Kriti Sanon’s Bold Promise About Her Cocktail 2 Role
This is the kind of statement that makes a film’s pre-release buzz skyrocket. Speaking about the project, Kriti shared that she looks very different from anything she has ever done before, and described her Cocktail 2 character as probably the hottest role she has played so far in her career. She also praised director Homi Adajania for his great aesthetic visual sense, saying he has brought out a cool side of her that she didn’t even know she had. Anime News Network
That’s high praise for a director — and it says a lot about how different this role is going to feel from her previous work. Fans who loved her in Kriti and Do Patti are going to be in for a very different kind of surprise.
The Release Date and First Look
On March 13, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon officially announced that Cocktail 2 will hit theatres on June 19, 2026, sharing a glimpse from the film along with the announcement. Anime News Network
The first look itself got people talking — the vibe is unmistakably cool and stylish, which fits perfectly with what Homi Adajania has always brought to his films. His eye for aesthetics — evident in films like Finding Fanny — seems to have finally found the perfect big-budget canvas.
Why Cocktail 2 Is One of 2026’s Most Anticipated Films
The original Cocktail (2012) was a beloved romantic triangle that made Deepika Padukone a superstar and gave audiences one of Bollywood’s most iconic performances. A sequel with Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna — three of Bollywood’s biggest current names — directed by Homi Adajania has the ingredients to be genuinely special.
