It’s not out of the race yet. Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (Hridayam) staged a quiet but meaningful recovery on its 2nd Tuesday — registering a 30 per cent spike over the previous day and inching tantalisingly close to the Rs 20 crore mark. For a mythological fantasy drama in Hindi, the journey is far from over.

A Steady Run, But Big Questions Remain
The Siddharth Gupta and Sanskruti Jayana starrer, directed by Hardik Gajjar, is showing the kind of consistency that mythological films are known for — slow-burn collections rather than explosive openings. A 30 per cent Tuesday jump is an encouraging sign of organic word-of-mouth at work.
However, with a relatively high production budget, the film needs a genuine surge to land a clean commercial hit verdict. The 2nd Tuesday drop of 20 per cent compared to the 1st Tuesday is respectable, but the numbers haven’t grown aggressively enough to suggest a second-wind breakout is imminent.

Why This Genre Can Still Surprise
Mythological films based on Indian epics have a history of defying conventional box office logic. Last year, Laalo Krishna Sada Sahayate sat quietly for over a month before exploding into a sensational run. Mahavatar Narsimha similarly opened to modest Rs 1.25 crore on Day 1 before growing exponentially over its run to ultimately collect Rs 170 crore nett in Hindi — driven by devotional audiences, repeat viewings and word-of-mouth from temple communities.
Could Krishnavataram follow a similar trajectory? The devotional audience base is real and deeply motivated. If the third weekend shows a second spike and social media chatter builds, the film could still find its moment. It will need nothing short of a miracle at this point — but in this genre, miracles have happened before.
