King Khan Meets Thalaivar — Shah Rukh Khan Reportedly Playing a Police Officer in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2

Two of India’s biggest superstars on the same screen. That’s the kind of casting that makes your jaw drop — and if the latest reports are anything to go by, that dream is becoming a reality in Jailer 2.

Jailer 2: Key Details at a Glance

Shah Rukh Khan as a Cop — Again?

According to a News18 report, Shah Rukh Khan will be suiting up as a police officer in Jailer 2 — an echo of his memorable role in Jawan. The portions involving SRK are reportedly the only remaining scenes to be filmed, expected to take around 7 to 8 days and likely completed this month. No official confirmation has come from the makers yet, but the buzz is getting louder.

Sharing the screen with Rajinikanth — one of Indian cinema’s most iconic figures — is no small affair. The combination of these two powerhouses alone is enough to make Jailer 2 one of the most anticipated releases in recent memory.

The Starpower Is Unreal

The cast of Jailer 2 reads like a roll call of Indian cinema royalty. Rajinikanth reprises his beloved role as “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian, with Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar back in their original characters. Joining them are Mithun Chakraborty and Vidya Balan in key roles, SJ Suryah as the villain, Vijay Sethupathi in a cameo, and Nora Fatehi set to deliver a special dance number. It’s a blockbuster by design.

What’s Next for Both Stars?

After Jailer 2 wraps, Rajinikanth plans to work on his autobiography before beginning his next film, Thalaivar 173, directed by Cibi Chakravarthy. He’s also signed on for KHxRK Reunion opposite Kamal Haasan, expected to release during Diwali or Ayudha Pooja 2027.

SRK, meanwhile, is busy filming King, directed by Siddharth Anand alongside Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Abhishek Bachchan — slated for a Christmas 2026 release.
