The confirmation dropped from Prithviraj Sukumaran’s official network, Poffactio, with a message that simply hit different: “Hey. Aamir Ali will see you in theatres on Aug 20th, 2026!” — and honestly, that’s all we needed.

This is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Malayalam releases of the year, and here’s everything you need to know at a glance.

Khalifa — Key Details

Why Khalifa Is Already Creating Buzz?

Director Vysakh has a proven track record of delivering high-octane entertainers, and pairing him with Prithviraj in a full-blown action avatar is a recipe Malayalam audiences have been waiting for. The film is scripted by Jinu V. Abraham, who also serves as co-producer, giving the project a personal stake that often translates to tighter storytelling.

The technical team is equally impressive. Music maestro Jakes Bejoy handles the score, while the legendary Jomon T. John takes charge behind the camera — a combination that guarantees visual and sonic grandeur.

What makes Khalifa even more exciting? The makers have already confirmed a prequel starring Mohanlal, with the legend expected to make a cameo in this first installment too. That’s a cinematic universe quietly building in the background — and we’re here for it. Learn more about how Malayalam cinema is evolving on Wikipedia.
