If you’ve been following the KATSEYE fandom lately, you already know things have been messy. But this week, the situation escalated even further — and this time, it’s not the members or the label stirring the pot. It’s allegedly a parent.

The “5 Is OK” Comment That Broke the Internet

When Manon stepped away from KATSEYE for health reasons, her fanbase rallied hard around her. Then an account under the username “rafaelavanzini” — believed to belong to fellow member Daniela’s father, Rafael Avanzini — started leaving comments like “5 is ok too,” “Come back when you ready to work,” and “THE SHOW MUST GO ON!” on fan posts about the situation.

Understandably, fans were furious. The account was mass-reported and vanished — but not for long.

A second account has now surfaced, this time featuring what appears to be a photo of Daniela and her father together. This new account began commenting again, including a message suggesting he had spoken with Daniela directly before posting. Fans interpreted this as confirmation that Daniela herself might agree with the sentiments expressed — something that has deeply upset Manon’s supporters. That said, neither the account’s identity nor Daniela’s position has been officially confirmed.

This kind of parasocial relationship dynamic — where fan communities react intensely to perceived insider comments — is exactly why unverified accounts cause such chaos in K-pop fandoms.

Where Things Stand Now

HYBE and Geffen Records have not issued any additional statements beyond acknowledging Manon’s hiatus. The other KATSEYE members have stayed publicly silent — though Lara was spotted at Olivia Rodrigo’s birthday party, which only added more fuel to fan frustration. Meanwhile, Manon’s supporters have chosen to trust Daniela directly, separating her from what may or may not be her father’s actions online.

One thing is clear: the fandom is watching every move very carefully right now.
